You are welcome to use this information and any of my photos in conjunction with your family research (but please give credit to the page you found the information on). You are welcome to Link this page to "Free" Genealogy sites,
However, do not take, reuse, republish in book form or on the internet, the additional notes, comments or research without Permission or cited as the source for the information.

I believe this listing on line to be complete in that all the stones are surveyed and noted and complete in the fact that no one can be certain who are in the numerous unmarked and sandstone marked graves. I have added information obtained from Death Certificates, Newspaper articles and descendants list names of those without stones to Frances original survey: In fact the Late Bobby Davis actually printed some information from this page and placed with his "Official Survey" in the Clerks office in Mills County, TX. I believe that no one can be 100% accurate when dealing with history but we try to be and will note when there is conflicting information. Please double check information from this page as well as any other source of information. This page tries to stay current and is ever changing and will include names and dates not listed in the Mills County Historical Commissions, "Mills County Cemeteries"(Book 2) because of the ablilty to add new names.

Frances Richardson surveyed and compiled this listing of the Rock Springs Cemetery in Mills County, TX in 1998.(Regular updates by webmaster)

Additional Information and Photographs were added by Sharon Ivy.
Names are in alphabetical order to some extent including names extracted from "obits" and are not necessarily next to each other in the cemetery. Check notes for sources other than markers

All attempts have been made to accurately represent the names and dates listed below. We regret any misspellings, etc. As you well know, some markers are harder to read and record then others plus the transcriber who transcribes may make a unintentional mistake in spelling or wrong dates. If you see a mistake, please send a correction to  Rose Lee Head  and I will correct it or note the change

Dennis There are three more Dennis Burials 5., 6., and 7 are still a mystery. At one time I thought NA was Nathan Allen the son of Allen, Jr. and his 2nd wife Sara Cryer Dennis that were married in 1907. There are some stories about two boys killed in an accident with a horse. One being the son of Allen and Sara and a cousin from Tennessee but I can't verify it. - Information furnished by Jan Laughlin

Mrs. Hall buried in Weems Cemetery
(believe is in Cherokee County)

While researching The Goldthwaite Eagle on Microfilm, I came across a Mrs. Hall death notice in a Nov 29, 1913 issue on Microfilm #674B

While she is not buried here, it stated the family wanted to have her buried next to her husband in the Rock Springs Community-

I believe this listing on line to be complete in that all the stones are surveyed and noted and complete in the fact that no one can be certain who are in the numerous unmarked and sandstone marked graves. I have added information obtained from Death Certificates, Newspaper articles and descendants list names of those without stones:

(Note: in 1998 -Bob Davis President of the Rock Springs Cemetery Association has placed a copy of his 1996 survey in the County Clerks Office, Goldthwaite, Texas. His Survey includes a Plot map)
He is also working on documentation for a Historical Marker and A "Official Rock Springs Cemetery Book" from the Rock Springs Cemetery Association to be published at a Later time and will be available for purchase. You can contact him through the Mills County Historical Commission -Mr. Davis wrote again this April 28, 2000 reminding me that this page is not the official Cemetery Listing - "

It is sad to report that Mr. Bobby Davis died September 13, 2005 after the printing of the Mills County Historical Commission surveyed and published the "Official listing of the Rock Springs Cemetery"and therefore he is not listed in the Offical survery of the cemetery but is included on this page.

Randall Davis has been elected to follow in Mr. Bobby Davis' position and is the New President of the Rock Springs Cemetery Association.
