Addie Davis

GOLDTHWAITE - Addie C. Davis, age 98, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996, in a local nursing home.

Addie's Service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rock Springs Cemetery.

Addie was born Nov. 17, 1898, in Goldthwaite and was a lifetime resident of Mills County. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Lyndon Davis of San Bernardino, Calif.; three daughters, Doris Kelcy of Mullin, Dorothea Ethridge of Brownwood and Florance Ethridge of Democrat; a brother, Ray Stark of Grand Prairie; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

From the "Mills County Memories", compiled and copyrighted by the Mills County Historical Commission, 1994, in an article (pages 426 & 427) titled," John Todd Stark Family" submitted by Mary Kathryn Harris. We learned the following about Addie Davis:

Addie Carrie Lois Stark was one of nine children born to John Charles Stark and Maria Vivian Roberts. Addie married Raymond Clyde Davis March 26, 1917.

Raymond was born on August 22, 1895 and preceded her in death on February 8, 1980

They are both buried in the Rock Springs Cemetery.
